UK TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT!

Sorry for the radio silence, crazy busy last two days. Good news, bad news. Sadly we’ve had to drop two UK shows and a couple German dates off the upcoming European tour. The UK has extended their lockdown past our dates, and Germany won’t give us the all clear coming from the US. Good news is we have locked in all the Sweden and Denmark shows. All details for the run will be up and posted in the morning. In addition, we WILL have the “Heavy Shoes” album with us for sale (months before release) on vinyl and CD, as well as new T-shirts and merch. This has been an incredibly difficult tour to pull off, but looks like we may be the first US band on the ground across the pond. We cannot wait to be back in Scandinavia and play for our you all. Stay tuned!

Hard Times from new LP Heavy Shoes

Announcement…Hard to believe it’s been over a year since we put out a full album. “Ways” in many “ways” opened a lot of doors for us. Over 5 million streams, so thank you to everyone that had rocked it. Today I’m very happy to announce that our first single “Hard Times” from the upcoming HEAVY SHOES album will be released March 25th, just three weeks away. This album has been so long in the making, such a long and winding road to finish, can’t tell you how excited we are to finally start to release it. I will be posting a pre-save link and clip hopefully within the next week, and we will be doing some very cool giveaways attached to the pre-release. Stay tuned, I think this one has been worth the wait, and we have some tricks up our sleeves….

WAYS by The Cold Stares

Release – “Ball of Fire” January 2021

January 8th on the release of “Ball of Fire”. I had this song in my head for awhile and knew I wanted to do a period piece with it. I also wanted to be accurate with the voice and lyrics of the song. I spent a couple weeks reading “hobo” language and slang from the turn of the century regarding trains and the great expansion west. Hopefully I did it justice. Very happy to have @warrenhoodmusic playing fiddle and mandolin on the track, who did an amazing job. Hope you all dig it as well, and we’ll do some promo stuff the beginning of the year with the song.

Spotify – Best Blues songs of 2020

Incredible honor to have “Just Beyond the Dawn” in this list with so many great artists, thank you @spotify -Backstory on the song. I had just finished reading the Robert Johnson book “Brother Robert” and was thinking about his life. One trait about RJ that is present in all the books about him was his need to ramble, always on the move, always searching. Wether intentional or out of necessity Robert Johnson was never settled. There are countless stories about being in a room with him and the next moment him vanishing. Moving from town to town, leaving lives behind, always searching for something he was missing maybe up ahead. I have had that feeling as well, being alone yet in a crowded room, and needing to keep searching for something calling me. “Just Beyond the Dawn” is my tribute to Robert Johnson, the greatest legend in American music. I hope you enjoy it.

September 20th – Joe Bonamassa Ryman Live Stream!
